Apreciados colegas:

Tras el paréntesis veraniego, el Grupo Navás de Neuropterología (GNN-SEA), retoma sus actividades científicas, divulgativas y sociales.

Como todos sabéis, el GNN tiene como objetivo el estudio de la fauna de Neuroptera, Raphidioptera y Megaloptera de todo el mundo con especial atención a la zona Paleártica, y pretende coordinar y alentar los esfuerzos de los estudiosos, tanto profesionales como aficionados, del Orden, dotándoles de una base de comunicación, proyección y logística.

En este sentido animamos a todos los interesados en estos órdenes de insectos a incorporarse al grupo y a participar decididamente en sus actividades y proyectos. El GNN está abierto a todas las iniciativas.

Os informamos a continuación de las principales novedades y proyectos:

• Se están preparando los contenidos de una página Web para el GNN dentro de la Comunidad Virtual de Entomología (CVe-SEA) en http://entomologia.rediris.es .

En principio se está montando una Web de presentación del grupo que incluirá junto a información social y noticias, diversas herramientas relacionadas con los Neurópteros: una introducción de tipo divulgativo al orden, una página de enlaces a otros recursos disponibles en Internet y lo que esperamos sea el germen de una futura biblioteca on line que incluya artículos científicos, notas y datos publicados o inéditos sobre la biología, clasificación, ecología, faunística, etc. de neurópteros, así como consejos prácticos y artículos divulgativos (sin excluir colecciones de fotografías).

Uno de los trabajos en preparación toma como base el catálogo de los neurópteros de Aragón que será progresivamente complementado con fichas de identificación de las especies con fotografías y distribución conocida.

Así que todo aquel que desee incluir trabajos en la Web o colocar enlaces, así como hacer sugerencias y propuestas, debe ponerse en contacto con el GNN lo antes posible en la dirección abajo indicada.

• El GNN publicará trabajos, artículos y notas sobre Neurópteros a través de una sección especial en las revistas de la SEA. Los originales (que deberán cumplir las normas de publicación de la SEA) deben ser enviados directamente a la Secretaría de la SEA.

• En fechas próximas estará disponible un borrador de los estatutos del grupo al objeto de que sea consensuado por todos los miembros. La idea es celebrar una reunión -tal vez virtual a través de una Lista o Chat- en la que sean aprobados y nombrada una primera Junta Directiva.

• Otra idea que manejamos es organizar una Lista propia del GNN a través de la cual puedan ser comentados y debatidos todo tipo de actuaciones y proyectos por los miembros del grupo. No dudéis en hacernos llegar vuestra opinión al respecto.

Os recordamos que para ser miembro del GNN es suficiente con asociarse a la SEA:

Dear Colleagues:

With the summer break well and truly over, the Grupo Navás de Neuropterología (GNN-SEA) is now resuming its normal activities: scientific research, promotion of neuropterology and corporate procedures.

As you know, the GNN's has as its goal the study of the world's fauna of Neuroptera, Raphidioptera and Megaloptera, with special attention to the Palaearctic, and aims at coordinating and furthering the efforts of neuropterists, both professional and amateur, by providing them with a means of communication, a vehicle for projection and logistical support.

With this in mind, we would like to encourage everyone interested in these fascinating insect orders to become a member of the GNN and take an active part in its activities and projects. We are open to all kinds of initiatives.

Here is a report of ongoing activities and projects:

• We are preparing the contents of a website for the GNN within the Comunidad Virtual de Entomología (CVe-SEA), at http:// entomologia.rediris.es.

For a start we are constructing a website that will serve as an introduction to the GNN and will include, along with corporate information and news, several tools connected with the Neuroptera: a general introduction to the Order, a page with links to other online resources and what we hope will be the embryo of a future online library containing scientific papers, notes and data, both published and unpublished, on the biology, taxonomy, ecology, faunistics, etc. of the Neuroptera, together with useful tips and general information articles (photo galleries not excluded!).

One of the sections under preparation is based on the catalogue of the Neuroptera of Aragón and will gradually expand to include determination "cards" that will include photographs and known distribution ranges.

So, all those interested in publishing articles on the website, adding links to it and offering suggestions or ideas should contact the GNN as soon as possible, at the electronic address given at the bottom.

• Another idea we are considering is setting up the GNN's own virtual message board at which all kinds of activities and projects can be discussed by the membership. Please tell us what you think of this!

• The GNN will be publishing papers, articles and notes on the Neuroptera in a special section of the SEA's magazines. The manuscripts (which must comply with the SEA's publication instructions) should be sent direct to the SEA's Secretary.

• A draft Constitution for the GNN will be made available shortly, with a view to eventually reaching a consensus on it. We intend to hold a meeting --perhaps on the Internet, through a a virtual message board or chat service-- where the Constitution can be approved and a first Executive Committee appointed.
