nueva de Luisarmasius del oriente de Cuba y descripción de la

Se describe
Luisarmasius samueli sp. n., sobre la base de una hembra
recolectada en una pluvisilva del Parque Nacional "Alejandro de Humboldt",
municipio de Baracoa, provincia de Guantánamo, región oriental de Cuba.
Difiere de sus dos congéneres por la forma de las espermatecas, menor
tamaño (propeltidio 0,75 mm vs 1,15-1,40 mm) y colorido general más
pálido. Se reduce el género Siguanesiotes Teruel, 2018 a un nuevo
sinónimo de Luisarmasius Reddell & Cokendolpher, 1995 y se
aclaran: (1) la supuesta desaparición de los paratipos de L.
insulaepinorum, reportada por Teruel y (2) la supuesta ausencia del
par de microcerdas en el terguito abdominal I de Luisarmasius y
Cokendolpherius Armas, 2002. Además, por primera vez se describe
la hembra de Pinero marmoreus Teruel, 2018 y se registra la
especie de una nueva localidad. Con estos cambios y adiciones, la fauna
cubana conocida de esquizómidos queda integrada por 13 géneros y 58
especies, siendo Stenochrus portoricensis Chamberlin, 1922 la
única no endémica de Cuba.. |

|
Luisarmasius
samueli sp. n., is described on the basis of a single female
collected in a tropical rain forest in the "Alejandro de Humboldt"
National Park, Baracoa municipality, Guantánamo province, eastern Cuba.
It clearly differs from its two congeners by having different
spermathecae, a smaller size (propeltidium length 0.75 mm vs 1.15-1.40
mm), and a paler general appearance. The genus Siguanesiotes
Teruel, 2018 is herein relegated as a junior synonym of Luisarmasius
Reddell & Cokendolpher, 1995, and the following relevant aspects are
elucidated: (1) the situation of the paratypes of L. insulaepinorum
(Armas, 1977), mentioned by Teruel as vanished, and (2) the pupposed
absence of the two pairs of microsetae on the tergite I in the genera
Luisarmasius and Cokendolpherius Armas, 2002. Also, for the
first time the female of Pinero marmoreus Teruel, 2018 is
described and the species is recorded from a new locality. Now, the
known Cuban fauna of schizomids includes 58 species belonging to 13
genera, with Stenochrus portoricensis Chamberlin, 1922 as the
only non-endemic species. |
